Gov. Abba Kabir-Yusuf of Kano State has congratulated Muslims across Nigeria on the occasion of the Maulud celebration, commemorating the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
This is contained in a statement issued by the governor’s spokesman, Sanusi Bature, on Tuesday in Kano.
Gov. Kabir-Yusuf urged Muslims to use the occasion to reflect on the life, teachings and exemplary character of the Prophet (SAW), particularly his virtues of peace, justice, compassion, honesty, patience and tolerance.
He called on the Muslim faithful to demonstrate those values in their daily lives to promote peaceful coexistence, unity and mutual respect among people of different backgrounds.
The governor also urged parents, religious leaders and community elders to intensify efforts in educating younger generations about the teachings and exemplary conduct of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
He prayed for continued peace, stability and prosperity in Kano State and Nigeria, while urging the people to continue supporting efforts aimed at improving the well-being of citizens
The governor wished Muslims a peaceful and spiritually rewarding Maulud celebration and called on them to pray for peace, progress and unity across the country.
He also used the occasion to pray for President Bola Tinubu and his amiable running mate, Vice President Kashim Shettima, for a successful first tenure and a hitch-free re-election in 2027.
