The Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, has met with the leadership of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and candidates seeking elective offices and other stakeholders ahead of the August 17, 2026, local government elections in the state.
The strategic stakeholders’ meeting focused on strengthening the party’s strategies and mobilising support for APM candidates across the 20 local government areas of the state.
Welcoming participants, the Bauchi State Chairman of APM, Auwal Isah, urged candidates at all levels to intensify efforts to promote and publicise the party and its programmes among the electorate.
He said the commitment of party candidates and members would be critical to securing victory for APM in the forthcoming local government elections and laying a strong foundation for the 2027 general elections.
The Chairman of the Local Government Election Supervisory and Monitoring Committee, constituted by Governor Mohammed and Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Abubakar Sulaiman, said stakeholders have important roles to play in mobilising support for the party in their respective areas.
Sulaiman called for continued unity of purpose, cooperation and commitment among APM members, stressing that a united party would be better positioned to confront the elections with the seriousness they deserve.
The meeting is part of efforts by the APM leadership in Bauchi State to strengthen coordination among its candidates and stakeholders, mobilise grassroots support and work towards electoral victory in the local government elections as well as the 2027 general elections.
